Obermann, Samwer talk entrepreneurship at Europe’s largest student-led conference

Already in its 13th edition, the IdeaLab! is going to gather the who-is-who of the international startup scene once again at its annual “Founders’ Conference” on October 11 & 12th, 2013 on campus of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.

Experienced founders and newcomers as well as venture capitalists and ambitious students are going to round up the variety of expected participants, who each year find a platform for networking and the exchange of ideas, information and news in the IdeaLab!

Next to interactive workshops and possibilities for speeddating sessions with investors, keynote speeches are at the heart of this year’s program.

Successful founders and key players from the scene are going to share their insights with the audience and will trigger one or another controversial discussion.

The organizing committee is very pleased to confirm industry experts such as Deutsche Telekom’s René Obermann in the speakers lineup.

He is going to share his own experiences on founding a company, but also give insights about the startup world from a corporate perspective, foremost through the eyes of Telekom’s renowned in-house company builder hub:raum, which he initiated as the company’s chairman.

Berlin’s startup veteran Oliver Samwer, founder and CEO of the European Founders Fund, is going to give an in-depth look about his life as a serial entrepreneur and investor. His vita includes founding Rocket Internet and establishing it as the world’s largest internet incubator as well as obtain a number of exits to global players like Groupon or Verizon, thus making him a great fit to share his view on success factors for startups in today’s world.

Finally, young and innovative founders, who generate buzz worldwide, are going to complete this high-quality lineup. Canada’s Aaron Grant, for example, just recently graduated from college and with his Thalmic Labs shortly after developed the MYO – a device, which gives its users the possibility to simply control electronic appliances with easy hand gestures.

The event will focus on the future of our society: How will social interaction look like very soon? What role will the digital life play when it comes to education or entertainment? Will content need to be individually tailored, and how will innovation change our personal lives in the next few years?

These and more topics are going to be discussed in the well-known intimate atmosphere that makes the IdeaLab! conference unique.
